The Navarrese People's Union (Spanish: Unión del Pueblo Navarro), abbreviated to UPN, is a regional conservative political party in Navarre, Spain. Until 2008, it was a fraternal party of the People's Party (PP), acting as the latter's Navarrese branch.
UPN is a strong opponent of Basque nationalism, and supports a Navarrese regional identity as separate from the Basque Country's. The party's regionalist tradition dates back to the nineteenth century, in which the Spanish nation is seen to be based on 'regional liberties'.
During the 1991–2008 period, UPN acted as the Navarrese branch of the PP, which, in return, did not run at Navarrese elections as a part of their agreement. During this period, UPN has been the largest party in elections for the regional Parliament of Navarre and the ruling party of the Autonomous Community since 1996.

Famous quotes containing the words people and/or union:
“At no time in history ... have the people who are not fit for society had such a glorious opportunity to pretend that society is not fit for them. Knowledge of the slums is at present a passport to societyso much the parlor philanthropists have achievedand all they have to do is to prove that they know their subject. It is an odd qualification to have pitched on; but gentlemen and ladies are always credulous, especially if you tell them that they are not doing their duty.”
—Katharine Fullerton Gerould (18791944)
“Visitors who come from the Soviet Union and tell you how marvellous it is to be able to look at public buildings without advertisements stuck all over them are just telling you that they cant decipher the cyrillic alphabet.”
—Clive James (b. 1939)
