National Security Advisor (India)

The National Security Advisor (NSA) of India is a member, Chief Executive of the National Security Council (NSC), and the primary advisor to the Prime Minister, the Indian Cabinet and the NSC on internal and international security issues. It is the National Security Advisor to whom the Indian Intelligence Agencies like Research and Analysis Wing and Intelligence Bureau (India) report rather than directly reporting Prime Minister of India. Due to such vested powers NSA is one of the most prominent and powerful office not only in India but in International perspective. All the NSA appointed since the inception of post belong to illustrious Indian Foreign Service except M. K. Narayanan who belonged to Indian Police Service.
