National Savings and Investments

National Savings and Investments (NS&I), formerly called the Post Office Savings Bank and National Savings, is a state-owned savings bank in the United Kingdom. It is an executive agency of the Chancellor of the Exchequer. NS&I attracts savers through offering saving products with tax free elements on some products, and a 100% guarantee from HM Treasury on all deposits. However, its rates are often low.

Famous quotes containing the words national and/or investments:

Thinking is the most unhealthy thing in the world, and people die of it just as they die of any other disease. Fortunately, in England at any rate, thought is not catching. Our splendid physique as a people is entirely due to our national stupidity.
    Oscar Wilde (1854–1900)

In youth, love and art. In age, investments and antiques.
    Mason Cooley (b. 1927)
