Famous quotes containing the words top and/or speakers:
“You would play upon me, you would seem to know my stops, you
would pluck out the heart of my mystery, you would sound me
from my lowest note to the top of my compass; and there is
much music, excellent voice, in this little organ.”
—William Shakespeare (1564–1616)
“The problems of society will also be the problems of the predominant language of that society. It is the carrier of its perceptions, its attitudes, and its goals, for through it, the speakers absorb entrenched attitudes. The guilt of English then must be recognized and appreciated before its continued use can be advocated.”
—Njabulo Ndebele (b. 1948)
