Famous quotes containing the words aid society, national, aid and/or society:
“...women were fighting for limited freedom, the vote and more education. I wanted all the freedom, all the opportunity, all the equality there was in the world. I wanted to belong to the human race, not to a ladies aid society to the human race.”
—Rheta Childe Dorr (18661948)
“In the past, it seemed to make sense for a sportswriter on sabbatical from the playpen to attend the quadrennial hawgkilling when Presidential candidates are chosen, to observe and report upon politicians at play. After all, national conventions are games of a sort, and sports offers few spectacles richer in low comedy.”
—Walter Wellesley (Red)
“Love stories are only fit for the solace of people in the insanity of puberty. No healthy adult human being can really care whether so-and-so does or does not succeed in satisfying his physiological uneasiness by the aid of some particular person or not.”
—Aleister Crowley (18751947)
“Someone who does not write books, who thinks a lot, and who lives in unsatisfying society will usually be a good letter- writer.”
—Friedrich Nietzsche (18441900)
