The Cable Show
NCTA is host to The Cable Show (formerly The National Show), the largest annual cable and broadband convention and trade show in the United States. The location and time for this event changes yearly. In 2012, The Cable Show was at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center in Boston from May 21–23. The Cable Show will be in Washington, DC in 2013 from June 10–12.
During The Cable Show, the Vanguard Awards are presented by the National Cable & Telecommunications Association. Award winners are nominated by the NCTA membership and selected by an Awards Committee composed of members from NCTA Board of Directors as well as former award winners.

Famous quotes containing the words cable and/or show:
“To be where little cable cars climb halfway to the stars.”
—Douglass Cross (b. 1920)
“Anybody who knows the difference between the kind of conversation you have walking in the woods and the kind of conversation you have between the segments of a show on Nickelodeon can tell you that quality time exists. Quality time is when you and your child are together and keenly aware of each other. You are enjoying the same thing at the same time, even if it is just being in a room or going for a drive in the car. You are somehow in tune, even while daring to be silent together.”
—Louise Lague (20th century)
