Closure of NAS Wexford

As the war ended, the US Naval Air Stations in Ireland were no longer required. Antisubmarine patrols by seaplanes were discontinued and the aircraft was grounded and disarmed as the base closed in February 1919. The slipway for launching the seaplanes is now the only visible sign of the station.
