Nar Phu, or ’Narpa, is a Tibeto-Burman language spoken in the two villages of Nar and Phu, in the Valley of the Nar Khola in the Manang district of Nepal. It forms a dialect continuum with Manang and is "probably intelligible with it". The Nar and Phu share a secret language intended to prevent Gyasumdo and Manang from understanding them.
Famous quotes containing the word language:
“It is silly to call fat people gravitationally challengedMa self-righteous fetishism of language which is no more than a symptom of political frustration.”
—Terry Eagleton (b. 1943)
