Naoko Mori - Early Life

Early Life

Mori was born in Nagoya, Japan. When Mori was twelve years old, she moved to England. Her father was sent back to Japan when Mori was fifteen. Mori was given the choice of either staying in London or moving back with her father to Japan. She chose to stay in England, partly because she wanted to finish her GCSEs and gain some qualifications. She attended the Royal Russell School. Mori's father later opened a bank account for her, handed her a cheque book and told her to find a flat or a bed sit for herself to live in. Mori said that being on her own at such a young age helped her to be a very independent person, although it was still a scary world to be faced so young.

Famous quotes containing the words early and/or life:

Names on a list, whose faces I do not recall
But they are gone to early death, who late in school
Distinguished the belt feed lever from the belt holding pawl.
    Richard Eberhart (b. 1904)

Man is eminently a storyteller. His search for a purpose, a cause, an ideal, a mission and the like is largely a search for a plot and a pattern in the development of his life story—a story that is basically without meaning or pattern.
    Eric Hoffer (1902–1983)
