In 2009 doctors told Hedin that she has cancer in her tongue and she is therefore currently not performing on stage. Shortly after, information on how to donate money appeared on her website in Swedish and English. Some time between late August and early October 2012, more than a year before its expiration date, her website went offline without notice. Her profile in the Swedish organisation register allabolag.se was removed about the same time.
