Naga People - Society

Society

The people are simple, straightforward, hard-working and honest people with a high standard of integrity. They possess a strong sense of self-respect and rarely submitted to anyone who ran roughshod over them. A hallmark of their character was their hospitality and cheerfulness. The Naga tribals have an egalitarian society, and the village is a closely knit unit consisting of households of different clans. In fact the Naga tribes don't have a common language. One clan communicates with another either in English or Nagamese creole.

Famous quotes containing the word society:

If we would enjoy the most intimate society with that in each of us which is without, or above, being spoken to, we must not only be silent, but commonly so far apart bodily that we cannot possibly hear each other’s voice in any case. Referred to this standard, speech is for the convenience of those who are hard of hearing; but there are many fine things which we cannot say if we have to shout.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

Connie, all my life I kept trying to go up in society where everything was legal, straight.... But the higher I go the crookeder it becomes. Where the hell does it end?
Mario Puzo, U.S. author, screenwriter, and Francis Ford Coppola, U.S. director, screenwriter. Michael Corleone (Al Pacino)

The society based on production is only productive, not creative.
    Albert Camus (1913–1960)
