Episode Notes
- Although this episode followed "In God We Trust" in both broadcast and production order, it comes first on the Season One DVD. The DVD order is more coherent, as Buster and Lucille Austero begin dating in this episode, and are seen on a date in "In God We Trust." Additionally, "In God We Trust" contains many references to Christmas, even though this episode aired much closer to the holiday.
- The title of this episode refers to both Lucille's car accident and the sitcom My Mother the Car.
- Tobias does not appear in this episode.
- On the next...: "George Michael and Maeby sneak back into Les Cousins Dangereux and Michael's insurance takes another hit."

Famous quotes containing the words episode and/or notes:
“The press is no substitute for institutions. It is like the beam of a searchlight that moves restlessly about, bringing one episode and then another out of darkness into vision. Men cannot do the work of the world by this light alone. They cannot govern society by episodes, incidents, and eruptions. It is only when they work by a steady light of their own, that the press, when it is turned upon them, reveals a situation intelligible enough for a popular decision.”
—Walter Lippmann (18891974)
“The germ of violence is laid bare in the child abuser by the sheer accident of his individual experience ... in a word, to a greater degree than we like to admit, we are all potential child abusers.”
—F. Gonzalez-Crussi, Mexican professor of pathology, author. Reflections on Child Abuse, Notes of an Anatomist (1985)
