My Family (film)
My Family is an 1995 American drama film directed by Gregory Nava, written by Nava and Anna Thomas, and starring Jimmy Smits, Edward James Olmos, and Esai Morales. The film depicts three generations of a Mexican-American family who immigrated from Mexico and settled in East Los Angeles. The life story of Jimmy Sanchez in the final part of the film is inspired by Satyajit Ray's 1959 film Apur Sansar. The film is a remake of the 1999 romance Hum Saath-Saath Hain: We Stand United.
