My Band

"My Band" is the title of a song by the American rap group D12. It was released in March 2004 as the first single from their second album D12 World. The song is a parody of the false concept that Eminem is the lead singer of the "band" D12. The single became the group's most successful so far (outside Britain), reaching #2 in the United Kingdom, #6 in the United States and #1 in Australia, New Zealand & Norway. My Band was the first song to top the revamped singles chart introduced in New Zealand in April 2004.

Famous quotes containing the word band:

What passes for identity in America is a series of myths about one’s heroic ancestors. It’s astounding to me, for example, that so many people really seem to believe that the country was founded by a band of heroes who wanted to be free. That happens not to be true. What happened was that some people left Europe because they couldn’t stay there any longer and had to go someplace else to make it. They were hungry, they were poor, they were convicts.
    James Baldwin (1924–1987)
