Mumford & Sons - Ted Dwane Blood Clot

Ted Dwane Blood Clot

The band were forced to return to the UK when bassist Ted Dwane took ill during the band's North America tour. Surgeons performed surgery on Dwane to remove a blood clot found on the surface of his brain. Heeding medical advice to aid Dwane's recovery, the band cancelled the rest of its Summer Stampede tour, including performance at 2013 Bonnaroo Music Festival. On 24 June 2013, The New York Times reported the band had added an 28 August concert at the 16,500-seat outdoor stadium at the The West Side Tennis Club, in Forest Hills, N.Y.. Dwane's surgery was successful and his recovery was such that the band managed to headline Glastonbury Festival.

Famous quotes containing the words blood and/or clot:

The poet sings how the blood flows in his veins. He performs his functions, and is so well that he needs such stimulus to sing only as plants put forth leaves and blossoms.... His song is a vital function like breathing, and an integral result like weight.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

It is more than likely that the brain itself is, in origin and development, only a sort of great clot of genital fluid held in suspense or reserved.... This hypothesis ... would explain the enormous content of the brain as a maker or presenter of images.
    Ezra Pound (1885–1972)
