Famous quotes containing the words muir and/or college:

    “Those lumbering horses in the steady plough,
    On the bare field—I wonder why, just now,
    They seemed terrible, so wild and strange,
    Like magic power on the stony grange.”
    —Edwin Muir (1887–1959)

    “When first the college rolls receive his name,
    The young enthusiast quilts his ease for fame;
    Through all his veins the fever of renown
    Burns from the strong contagion of the gown;”
    —Samuel Johnson (1709–1784)
