Bob Knight's Version
Another prominent head coach who was influential in the development of the motion offense is Bob Knight. Knight used the motion offense to great success for over 40 years as the head coach of the United States Military Academy, Indiana University, and Texas Tech University, recording 902 total victories. His motion offense emphasized post players setting screens and perimeter players passing the ball until a teammate becomes open for an uncontested lay-up or jump shot. Players are also required to be unselfish and disciplined, and must be effective in setting and using screens to get open.

Famous quotes containing the words bob, knight and/or version:
“It was because of me. Rumors reached Inman that I had made a deal with Bob Dole whereby Dole would fill a paper sack full of doggie poo, set it on fire, put it on Inmans porch, ring the doorbell, and then we would hide in the bushes and giggle when Inman came to stamp out the fire. I am not proud of this. But this is what we do in journalism.”
—Roger Simon, U.S. syndicated columnist. Quoted in Newsweek, p. 15 (January 31, 1990)
“Nae living man Ill love again,
Since that my lovely knight is slain.
Wi ae lock of his yellow hair
Ill chain my heart for evermair.”
—Unknown. The Lament of the Border Widow (l. 2528)
“Exercise is the yuppie version of bulimia.”
—Barbara Ehrenreich (b. 1941)
