Famous quotes containing the words popular culture, morton, popular and/or culture:

The lowest form of popular culture—lack of information, misinformation, disinformation, and a contempt for the truth or the reality of most people’s lives—has overrun real journalism. Today, ordinary Americans are being stuffed with garbage.
    Carl Bernstein (b. 1944)

    Dr. Livingstone, I presume?
    —Sir Henry Morton Stanley (1841–1904)

Heroes are created by popular demand, sometimes out of the scantiest materials, or none at all.
    Gerald W. Johnson (1890–1980)

    Marcus Garvey (1887–1940)
