Events
The school also has several yearly events. In November 2005, the school held a Battle of the Bands contest to raise money for victims of Hurricane Katrina. Battle of the Bands was put together by students who graduated in June 2006. Due to its success the school said it will become an annual event, although it never did.
Another annual event at Moore Catholic is Senior Costume Day. Every Halloween (or the Friday before if the holiday falls on a weekend) the school's senior class gets to wear costumes. Many of the teachers also get into the spirit of things by wearing costumes themselves. Every September of a new school year, the school holds its Freshman Field Day. The school hires a DJ and several rides for the freshman as well as buying them pizza and soda.

Famous quotes containing the word events:
“Genius is present in every age, but the men carrying it within them remain benumbed unless extraordinary events occur to heat up and melt the mass so that it flows forth.”
—Denis Diderot (17131784)
“There is much to be said in favour of modern journalism. By giving us the opinions of the uneducated, it keeps us in touch with the ignorance of the community. By carefully chronicling the current events of contemporary life, it shows us of what very little importance such events really are. By invariably discussing the unnecessary, it makes us understand what things are requisite for culture, and what are not.”
—Oscar Wilde (18541900)
“Nothing that grieves us can be called little: by the eternal laws of proportion a childs loss of a doll and a kings loss of a crown are events of the same size.”
—Mark Twain [Samuel Langhorne Clemens] (18351910)
