Moody's Mega Math Challenge
Moody's Mega Math (M³) Challenge is an applied mathematics modeling contest open to high schools along the entire East Coast, from Maine to Florida. It is sponsored by The Moody's Foundation (a charity of Moody's rating agency) based in New York City and organized by the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) based in Philadelphia. The M³ Challenge awards $115,000 in scholarship prizes each year to the top teams. An additional incentive is the recognition that the winning teams receive. The winning paper from 2008 was published in the College Mathematics Journal and a representative from High Tech's team appeared on FOX Business Channel.

Famous quotes containing the words moody and/or challenge:
“The price on the wanted
poster was a-going down, outlaw alias copped my stance
and moody greenhorns were making me dance; while my mouths
shooting iron got its chambers jammed.”
—Ishmael Reed (b. 1938)
“I always draw a parallel between oppression by the regime and oppression by men. To me it is just the same. I always challenge men on why they react to oppression by the regime, but then they do exactly the same things to women that they criticize the regime for.”
—Sethembile N., South African black anti-apartheid activist. As quoted in Lives of Courage, ch. 19, by Diana E. H. Russell (1989)
