Molly (fish)
See text.
Mollies (Poecilia) are a genus of euryhaline brackish water fish in family Poeciliidae of order Cyprinodontiformes. The type species is P. vivipara. Live-bearers, the Poecilia species are collectively known as mollies, with the exception of Endler's livebearer (P. wingei) and the famous guppy (P. reticulata). It has been proposed that the genus Micropoecilia should be included as a sub-genus of Poecilia.
Famous quotes containing the word molly:
“Her voice is thin and her moan is high,
And her cackling laugh or her barking cold
Bring terror to the young and old.
O Molly, Molly, Molly Means
Lean is the ghost of Molly Means.”
—Margaret Abigail Walker (b. 1915)
