Famous quotes containing the words milton and/or park:
“Methinks I see in my mind a noble and puissant nation rousing herself like a strong man after sleep, and shaking her invincible locks. Methinks I see her as an eagle mewing her mighty youth, and kindling her undazzled eyes at the full midday beam.”
—John Milton (16081674)
“Linnæus, setting out for Lapland, surveys his comb and spare shirt, leathern breeches and gauze cap to keep off gnats, with as much complacency as Bonaparte a park of artillery for the Russian campaign. The quiet bravery of the man is admirable.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
