The racing driver Graham Hill lived at Mill Hill for much of his adult life, as of course did his son Damon Hill. The botanist Peter Collinson and the English traveller Celia Fiennes. The playwright and novelist Michael Frayn was born in Mill Hill. The founder of Singapore Sir Stamford Raffles, the abolitionist William Wilberforce, and the parliamentarian John Wilkes. In 2010 The X Factor contestants took up residence. The late actress Angharad Rees lived at 13 Engel Park for the first two years of her life.
