Famous quotes containing the words movement to, movement, stop, military and/or children:

Our movement took a grip on cowardly Marxism and from it extracted the meaning of socialism. It also took from the cowardly middle-class parties their nationalism. Throwing both into the cauldron of our way of life there emerged, as clear as a crystal, the synthesis—German National Socialism.
    Hermann Goering (1893–1946)

Every little movement has a meaning all its own.
    Otto Harbach (1873–1963)

How to attain sufficient clarity of thought to meet the terrifying issues now facing us, before it is too late, is ... important. Of one thing I feel reasonably sure: we can’t stop to discuss whether the table has or hasn’t legs when the house is burning down over our heads. Nor do the classics per se seem to furnish the kind of education which fits people to cope with a fast-changing civilization.
    Mary Barnett Gilson (1877–?)

Stately as a galleon, I sail across the floor,
Doing the military two-step, as in the days of yore.
    Joyce Grenfell (1910–1979)

Your children and grandchildren will have their share of happiness; there’s no need to work a like a horse for them.
    Chinese proverb.
