Miles Gordon Technology

Miles Gordon Technology, known as MGT, was a small British company, initially specialising in high-quality add-ons for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum home computer. It was founded in June 1986 in Cambridge, England by Alan Miles and Bruce Gordon, former employees of Sinclair Research, after Sinclair sold the rights for the Spectrum to Amstrad. In May 1989 they moved to Swansea, Wales, became a public company in July 1989 and went into receivership in June 1990.

Famous quotes containing the words miles, gordon and/or technology:

If we should swap a good library for a second-rate stump speech and not ask for boot, it would be thoroughly in tune with our hearts. For deep within each of us lies politics. It is our football, baseball, and tennis rolled into one. We enjoy it; we will hitch up and drive for miles in order to hear and applaud the vitriolic phrases of a candidate we have already reckoned we’ll vote against.
—Federal Writers’ Project Of The Wor, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)

All men are intrinsical rascals, and I am only sorry that not being a dog I can’t bite them.
    —George Gordon Noel Byron (1788–1824)

If we had a reliable way to label our toys good and bad, it would be easy to regulate technology wisely. But we can rarely see far enough ahead to know which road leads to damnation. Whoever concerns himself with big technology, either to push it forward or to stop it, is gambling in human lives.
    Freeman Dyson (b. 1923)
