Famous quotes containing the words mighty and/or sparrow:
“See the kind seed-receiving earth
To every grain affords a birth:
On her no showers unwelcome fall,
Her willing womb retains em all,
And shall my Caelia be confined?
No, live up to thy mighty mind,
And be the mistress of Mankind!”
—John Wilmot, 2d Earl Of Rochester (16471680)
“The first sparrow of spring! The year beginning with younger hope than ever!... What at such a time are histories, chronologies, traditions, and all written revelations? The brooks sing carols and glees to the spring.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
