The Spartans have appeared in 26 NCAA men's basketball tournaments with 2 NCAA men's basketball national championships. They also count 8 Final Fours and sport a 52-22 all-time NCAA tournament record following their most recent performance the 2010 NCAA tournament. Michigan State has been in the Sweet Sixteen 9 of the last 13 years. Michigan St. has outperformed their tournament seed more than any other team in Division I basketball. Only Duke has more appearances. They also have appeared in 7 of the last 12 Elite Eights. As well, 6 of the last 12 Final Fours, in which no other team has accomplished this mark. MSU has accepted a bid to the National Invitation Tournament five times, the most recent being in 1997.
