Mental Rotation - Real Life Application

Real Life Application

Further information: Abstraction

As shown in the studies athletes are more spatially aware because their training makes them have to be. Dancers are also very spatially aware, due to the immense amount of training and practice of turns and mental rehearsal. The more musical or athletic a person is, the more they are spatially aware and can rotate images in the environment. The use of mental rotation can be strengthened by becoming trained in a certain art or sport. Without mental rotation people would not be able to process information as quickly and accurately.

Famous quotes containing the words real life, real, life and/or application:

Even in harmonious families there is this double life: the group life, which is the one we can observe in our neighbour’s household, and, underneath, another—secret and passionate and intense—which is the real life that stamps the faces and gives character to the voices of our friends. Always in his mind each member of these social units is escaping, running away, trying to break the net which circumstances and his own affections have woven about him.
    Willa Cather (1873–1947)

Be real and admirable, not as we know, but as you know. Able men do not care in what kind a man is able, so only that he is able. A master likes a master, and does not stipulate whether it be orator, artist, craftsman, or king.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

There are books ... which take rank in your life with parents and lovers and passionate experiences, so medicinal, so stringent, so revolutionary, so authoritative.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

By an application of the theory of relativity to the taste of readers, to-day in Germany I am called a German man of science, and in England I am represented as a Swiss Jew. If I come to be regarded as a bĂȘte noire the descriptions will be reversed, and I shall become a Swiss Jew for the Germans and a German man of science for the English!
    Albert Einstein (1879–1955)
