Mazher Mahmood is an undercover reporter with The Sunday Times newspaper. He previously spent 20 years working for the defunct British tabloid newspaper News of the World, for which he was responsible for numerous public interest and other investigations
News of the World claimed he has brought over 250 criminals to justice. However a recent investigation has alleged the actual number of convictions to be 94. Mahmood is also known as the fake sheikh because he has often posed as a sheikh to obtain stories. In September 2008, he wrote a book entitled Confessions of a Fake Sheik – The King Of The Sting Reveals All.
