Japanese Designation
The Eunos 800 was a luxury car from Mazda's Eunos marque in Japan. Sold only from 1993 through 1998, the Eunos 800 exported as the Xedos 9 and used the Mazda T platform. It was also sold as a Eunos 800 in Australia, as both the 800M, with the Miller Cycle engine and the base 800, with the 2.5 litre engine. Both engines are slightly derated compared to the Japanese spec engines, probably to handle the inferior fuels available in Australia.
Engines:
- 2.5 L KL-ZE V6
- 2.25 L KJ-ZEM V6 (Miller cycle)

Famous quotes containing the words japanese and/or designation:
“A pragmatic race, the Japanese appear to have decided long ago that the only reason for drinking alcohol is to become intoxicated and therefore drink only when they wish to be drunk.
So I went out into the night and the neon and let the crowd pull me along, walking blind, willing myself to be just a segment of that mass organism, just one more drifting chip of consciousness under the geodesics.”
—William Gibson (b. 1948)
“In a period of a peoples life that bears the designation transitional, the task of a thinking individual, of a sincere citizen of his country, is to go forward, despite the dirt and difficulty of the path, to go forward without losing from view even for a moment those fundamental ideals on which the entire existence of the society to which he belongs is built.”
—Ivan Sergeevich Turgenev (18181883)
