He has done a series of TV programmes with fellow angler Mick Brown also known as 'The Duke of Market Deeping' or 'Sir Michael'. These programmes include: The Great Rod Race, The Greater Rod Race and Wet Nets. These are both about 30 day challenges from the west coast of Ireland, to the east coast of England. Matt also starred in the TV series 'Mainstream', travelling down the UK's most famous rivers from 'source to sea', wetting a line or two along the way.

Famous quotes containing the word books:
“No common-place is ever effectually got rid of, except by essentially emptying ones self of it into a book; for once trapped in a book, then the book can be put into the fire, and all will be well. But they are not always put into the fire; and this accounts for the vast majority of miserable books over those of positive merit.”
—Herman Melville (18191891)
“If only I could manage, without annoyance to my family, to get imprisoned for 10 years, without hard labour, and with the use of books and writing materials, it would be simply delightful!”
—Lewis Carroll [Charles Lutwidge Dodgson] (18321898)
“Like dreaming, reading performs the prodigious task of carrying us off to other worlds. But reading is not dreaming because books, unlike dreams, are subject to our will: they envelop us in alternative realities only because we give them explicit permission to do so. Books are the dreams we would most like to have, and, like dreams, they have the power to change consciousness, turning sadness to laughter and anxious introspection to the relaxed contemplation of some other time and place.”
—Victor Null, South African educator, psychologist. Lost in a Book: The Psychology of Reading for Pleasure, introduction, Yale University Press (1988)
