In early 2011 Matt was elected as the president for the National Federation of Young Farmers Clubs
In November 2012, Matt won a poll on a community based radio show in Darlington, not far from Bakers hometown for the "Friendliest Face On TV". Though there were no comments from Matt himself. This was took as an insult to the volunteers who organized the poll.
He also does voice-over links for BBC Radio Newcastle.
