The term massive particle refers to particles which have non-zero rest mass. They are divided in two major groups, bradyons and tachyons. The existence of massive superluminal particles is a controversial issue.
Famous quotes containing the words massive and/or particle:
“Those who have been immersed in the tragedy of massive death during wartime, and who have faced it squarely, never allowing their senses and feelings to become numbed and indifferent, have emerged from their experiences with growth and humanness greater than that achieved through almost any other means.”
—Elisabeth Kübler-Ross (b. 1926)
“The way to learn German, is, to read the same dozen pages over and over a hundred times, till you know every word and particle in them, and can pronounce and repeat them by heart.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
