Instrumentation
Bernstein scored Mass for a large orchestra and choir, and also included an onstage groups (street musicians). Bernstein divided the orchestra into two parts: the strings, keyboards percussion are in the pit, while the woodwinds, brass, guitars, synthesizers and percussion are onstage.
