Elementary School Fundraising

In 2009, Mascot Books established a new line of elementary school mascot books featuring school-specific, customized characters and story lines. The first book in the series, Hello, Scotty!, tells the story of Crossfield Elementary in Herndon, Virginia.

Mascot Books has since published nearly 50 elementary school books in 22 states. The books provide schools a chance to raise money in nonfood related ways.

Famous quotes containing the words elementary and/or school:

Listen. We converse as we live—by repeating, by combining and recombining a few elements over and over again just as nature does when of elementary particles it builds a world.
    William Gass (b. 1924)

For those parents from lower-class and minority communities ... [who] have had minimal experience in negotiating dominant, external institutions or have had negative and hostile contact with social service agencies, their initial approaches to the school are often overwhelming and difficult. Not only does the school feel like an alien environment with incomprehensible norms and structures, but the families often do not feel entitled to make demands or force disagreements.
    Sara Lawrence Lightfoot (20th century)
