Maryland State Boychoir

The Maryland State Boychoir is a choir based in Baltimore, Maryland. It was founded in 1987 by Frank Cimino. The choir is a donor-supported 501(c)3 organization, dedicated to providing boys a welcoming place to sing. The choir is composed of approximately 140 choristers, ages 7 to 20, who represent a wide range of ethnic, socioeconomic, and religious backgrounds. They perform locally, nationally, and internationally. Frank Cimino is the currently retired but still helps with the choir. Stephen Holmes is currently the Artistic Director, and Joseph Shortall is the Treble Choir Director. The Maryland State Boychoir is a wonderful opportunity for boys of all backgrounds to come together and sing. On normal weeks, each minor choir comes to the Center of the Arts to rehearse. Each minor group are called the Tour Choir, the Concert Choir, the Treble Choir, and the Resident Training Choir.

Changed Voice Choir This choir group consists of only tenors and basses their they have no particular style of music they perform

Tour Choir The Tour Choir travels across the world to sing to individuals.

Concert Choir The Concert Choir is an intermediately skilled group whose main branch of music is gospel.

Treble Choir The Treble Choir does many concerts, singing in high treble or soprano pitches.

Resident Training Choir The Resident Training Choir contains many boys around Baltimore neighborhoods and the instructors improve male voices in order to be promoted into the any other minor groups.
