Marley Davidson - Creation and Development

Creation and Development

According to end notes by the author that appear on the inside back cover of the first issue, “In truth, it was not created as a stand alone idea. 'Marley Davidson' is a spin off of…’Vladek, Vampire Detective.’…Marley Davidson was to be the last side-kick for the planned conclusion of the Vladek series,” and that “Marley Davidson was intended as something of a joke, like the detective ‘Ford Fairlane’ which was named after a car.” While “Vladek, Vampire Detective” was never published, Marley Davidson was launched by Vampyrotechnic Studios in 1995 out of Wallabout street in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.

Famous quotes containing the words creation and, creation and/or development:

For me, the principal fact of life is the free mind. For good and evil, man is a free creative spirit. This produces the very queer world we live in, a world in continuous creation and therefore continuous change and insecurity. A perpetually new and lively world, but a dangerous one, full of tragedy and injustice. A world in everlasting conflict between the new idea and the old allegiances, new arts and new inventions against the old establishment.
    Joyce Cary (1888–1957)

The creation of “strong-minded” women, so-called, is due to the individualism of men, to the modern selfish and speculative spirit which absorbs everything within itself and leaves women nothing but self-assertion for their protection and support.
“Jennie June” Croly 1829–1901, U.S. founder of the woman’s club movement, journalist, author, editor. Demorest’s Illustrated Monthly and Mirror of Fashions, p. 44 (February 1870)

To be sure, we have inherited abilities, but our development we owe to thousands of influences coming from the world around us from which we appropriate what we can and what is suitable to us.
    Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe (1749–1832)
