Career
Skousen was an economic analyst for the CIA from 1972 to 1975. He later worked as a consultant for IBM and Hutchinson Technology, among other Fortune 500 companies. He was a columnist for Forbes magazine from 1997 to 2001, and has contributed articles to such financial publications as The Wall Street Journal and The Journal of Economic Perspectives as well as to the libertarian periodicals Reason, Liberty and The Freeman.
He has been a speaker at investment conferences around the world,. He has also lectured for think tanks, as well as at colleges and universities.
In 2002, Skousen was elected a member of the Mont Pelerin Society, an international group of social scientists and economists who favor classical liberalism.
From 2008-2010 he was a weekly contributor on CNBC's Kudlow & Company. He appears frequently on C-SPAN Book TV.
