Marcus Terentius Varro ( /ˈmɑrkəs təˈrɛnʃəs ˈværoʊ/; 116 BC – 27 BC) was an ancient Roman scholar and writer. He is sometimes called Varro Reatinus to distinguish him from his younger contemporary Varro Atacinus.
