Class
Two A4s were exported after retirement, one to the USA (No. 60008 (LNER No. 4496) Dwight D. Eisenhower) and the other to Canada (No. 60010 (LNER No. 4489) Dominion of Canada). In October 2012, they came back to prepare for the 75th anniversary celebrations in 2013 of the record run. They and Mallard will be joined at the National Railway Museum by No. 4464 (BR. No. 60019) Bittern, No. 60007 (LNER No. 4498) Sir Nigel Gresley and No. 60009 (LNER No. 4488) Union of South Africa. No. 60008 will have its BR Brunswick Green livery refreshed and No. 60010 will be re-painted in LNER Garter Blue with stainless steel lettering and numbers and fitted with the Canadian bell and whistle.

Famous quotes containing the word class:
“During the long ages of class rule, which are just beginning to cease, only one form of sovereignty has been assigned to all menthat, namely, over all women. Upon these feeble and inferior companions all men were permitted to avenge the indignities they suffered from so many men to whom they were forced to submit.”
—Mary Putnam Jacobi (18421906)
“The General Strike has taught the working class more in four days than years of talking could have done.”
—A.J. (Arthur James)
“I do not deny that there may be other well-founded causes for the hatred which various classes feel toward politicians, but the main one seems to me that politicians are symbols of the fact that every class must take every other class into account.”
—José Ortega Y Gasset (18831955)
