Maine Road - Legacy

Legacy

The Maine Road in its last incarnation before demolition in 2004 most notably had the high Kippax stand. The stand dwarfed the terraced houses that filled the streets outside the stadium and Maine Road was one of the last notable grounds to have a connection with the working class population.

The stadium was unofficially rated as one of the most atmospheric stadiums in world football in 2008 by Daily Mail who commented that "Maine Road will always be one of English football's legendary grounds".
