Macross Plus was first released in Japan on VHS and Laserdisc formats by Bandai Visual. Manga Entertainment released the series in VHS (dubbed and subtitled versions) and Laserdisc formats in Europe and as their first title in the North American market. The English-dubbed series was also released in MovieCD format for Windows 3.1/Windows 95-based PCs. In 1999, Manga Entertainment released Macross Plus on DVD format, with two episodes per disc. Sales of disc 2 of the series were affected by a subtitle timing error, which was corrected on subsequent reprints. The Movie Edition was released on DVD in 2000. The video, however, was a direct transfer from the subtitled VHS release, with no options for removing the subtitles. There is also no English dub for the movie.

A subtitle-only version of Macross Plus: Movie Edition was released on VHS and DVD in the U.S. through Manga Entertainment. As the DVD is a direct transfer from the VHS version, the subtitles are actually fixed on the footage itself and not programmed to be turned off. There also isn't an English dub for the movie version.

Famous quotes containing the words home and/or video:

To-day ... when material prosperity and well earned ease and luxury are assured facts from a national standpoint, woman’s work and woman’s influence are needed as never before; needed to bring a heart power into this money getting, dollar-worshipping civilization; needed to bring a moral force into the utilitarian motives and interests of the time; needed to stand for God and Home and Native Land versus gain and greed and grasping selfishness.
    Anna Julia Cooper (1859–1964)

I recently learned something quite interesting about video games. Many young people have developed incredible hand, eye, and brain coordination in playing these games. The air force believes these kids will be our outstanding pilots should they fly our jets.
    Ronald Reagan (b. 1911)
