2006 Campaign For United States House of Representative

In 2006, Collins moved back to Butts County and made an attempt to return to Congress against Democrat Jim Marshall. Marshall's redrawn district includes none of the territory Collins represented in his first five terms, but three counties that he represented in his last term. It made for one of the most competitive House races in the nation. Collins lost again, by only 1,100 votes.

Dianne’s not one of the boys, but she’s not one of the girls, either.
Marcia Smolens, U.S. political campaign aide. As quoted in Dianne Feinstein, ch. 15, by Jerry Roberts (1994)

... when we shall have our amendment to the Constitution of the United States, everyone will think it was always so, just exactly as many young people believe that all the privileges, all the freedom, all the enjoyments which woman now possesses were always hers. Susan B. Anthony (1820–1906)

Jimmy Carter (James Earl Carter, Jr.)

What is the reason that women servants ... have much lower wages than men servants ... when in fact our female house servants work much harder than the male?
