  • 1938 - 1941 General Officer Commanding LXXXII Corps
  • 1943 - 1945 Commander in Chief 40th Army Group

He commanded the "New 9th Division", "New 2nd Army", and the "82nd Army". Another one of his positions was "vice-commander of the 77th Brigade of the 26th Division".
