Entertainment Career

Shortly after his playing career, Byers returned to the Boston area and became a co-host of the Hill Man Morning Show on radio station WAAF-FM where he is an air personality and sports specialist.

Byers has made several appearances on the FX drama/comedy Rescue Me with well-known Bruins fan Denis Leary, as well as fellow former Bruins Cam Neely and Phil Esposito. He had a cameo appearance in the films Shallow Hal and Stuck On You as well. He was also featured on the Season One finale of Bar Rescue on Spike TV. Byers and Neely also appeared in the music video for the song Hole Hearted by Boston hard rock group Extreme.

It was announced on September 6th, 2012 during a live broadcast of "The Hill-Man Morning Show" that Byers could not come to terms on a new contract with WAAF's parent corporation, Entercom, and he would no longer be co-host on the long running show. The contract issue was later resolved and Byers returned to WAAF.

Famous quotes containing the word career:

It is a great many years since at the outset of my career I had to think seriously what life had to offer that was worth having. I came to the conclusion that the chief good for me was freedom to learn, think, and say what I pleased, when I pleased. I have acted on that conviction... and though strongly, and perhaps wisely, warned that I should probably come to grief, I am entirely satisfied with the results of the line of action I have adopted.
    Thomas Henry Huxley (1825–95)
