Lusty Glaze (Cornish: Lostyn Glas, meaning little green tail of land) is a beach in Newquay, Cornwall.
Lusty Glaze is privately owned although it has full public access. An outdoor activity company runs a range of beach based activities. The cove is naturally sheltered by high cliffs. Lusty Glaze is a huge Cornish tourist attraction with 368 slate steps from the cliff top to the beach below.
It was the southern terminus of the abortive St Columb Canal, parts of which were built in the 1770s, and although the southern section was probably never used, the remains of the inclined plane that connected the beach to the canal on the cliff top 100 feet (30 m) above are still clearly visible.

Famous quotes containing the word lusty:
“With hym ther was his sone, a yong squier,
A lovyere and a lusty bacheler,
With lokkes crulle as they were leyd in presse.
Of twenty yeer of age he was, I gesse.
Of his stature he was of evene lengthe,
And wonderly delyvere, and of greet strengthe.”
—Geoffrey Chaucer (1340?1400)
