Background
Lucy is the eldest daughter of Gary Ewing and his estranged wife Valene Clements Ewing. Because her father had a drinking problem and wasn't able to be a fit parent to Lucy, the Ewings took her from an underage Valene and Lucy was raised at the Southfork Ranch by her grandparents, Jock and Miss Ellie Ewing.
