She has two children, Ricardo Olivarez and Lisa Marie Roybal Elliott (born Olivarez), two stepchildren, Angela Allard and Guy Mark Allard, and four grandchildren. Her husband is a management consultant and a retired Marine Corps captain. She lives in East Los Angeles, California.
