Lucien Walker - The Summer Obsession

The Summer Obsession

In 2004, Walker and Leval formed "The Summer Obsession," with Walker playing keyboards instead of bass. The group started writing songs in the summer of 2004. They attended a Myspace party in Miami that summer where they met founder Tom Anderson. Anderson loved their music and made The Summer Obsession one of the first MySpace bands.

In 2005 the group landed a slot on a side stage of the Warped tour. They packed up Walker's Jeep and drove from Jacksonville to Indianapolis only to find that the stage had been canceled. Not wanting to return to home, the group continued driving and went to Los Angeles in the hopes of landing a record deal. Times were tough as the group found themselves homeless and stealing food just to get by. After a few months of eight-hour practice sessions and countless showcases Virgin Records signed the band.

In July 2005, The Summer Obsession entered the studio with producer Josh Abraham (Velvet Revolver, Pink), engineer Ryan Williams (Rage Against the Machine, Outkast). Eventually Chris Wilson joined the group and in 2006 This Is Where You Belong was released.

In January 2007 the band left Virgin Records and released the EP 'We're Not Virgins Anymore'.

In 2008 The Summer Obsession released the single 'We Are All Telepathic'.

In late 2009 the band reformed. 'Believe Nothing Explore Everything' is the title of their new CD that was released March 31, 2010.
