Supposed Logic Bombing of The Trans-Siberian Pipeline
It has been reported that in 1982 the Trans-Siberian Pipeline incident occurred because of a logic bomb. (It has later been reported that this story may be a hoax). A KGB operative was purported to have stolen the plans for a sophisticated control system and its software from a Canadian firm, for use on their Siberian pipeline. The CIA was supposedly tipped off by documents in the Farewell Dossier and had the company insert a logic bomb in the program for sabotage purposes. This eventually resulted in "the most monumental non-nuclear explosion and the first fire ever seen from space".

Famous quotes containing the words supposed, logic, bombing and/or pipeline:
“I had heard so much about how hard it was supposed to be that, when they were little, I thought it would be horrible when they got married and left. But thats silly you know. . . . By the time they grow up, they change and you change. Eventually, theyre not the same little kids and youre not the same mother. Its as if everything just falls into a pattern and youre ready.”
—Anonymous Mother. As quoted in Women of a Certain Age, by Lillian B. Rubin, ch. 2 (1979)
“Neither Aristotelian nor Russellian rules give the exact logic of any expression of ordinary language; for ordinary language has no exact logic.”
—Sir Peter Frederick Strawson (b. 1919)
“There is a sanctity involved with bringing a child into this world: it is better than bombing one out of it.”
—James Baldwin (19241987)
“Even in the pink crib
the somehow deficient,
the somehow maimed,
are thought to have
a special pipeline to the mystical....”
—Anne Sexton (19281974)
